State

So this last weekend, we attended Spencer's State Gymnastics Competition down in Heber City. It was a blast!! Bill took Friday off work and we drove to Park City to shop, eat yummy food and swim in the hotel swimming pool. Saturday morning, we hopped in the car and headed to Heber for the big meet. Spence did awesome!!
He took 3rd place on double mini, 3rd place on tramp and then 6th place on floor. He worked really hard and also had alot of fun. Here are some pics from our day.

Great Job Spence! We love you!!

Easter

Here is our easter update!! We were very excited for easter this year. We did a special FHE to teach the kids about Christ and the Resurrection (complete with visual aids--go mom!). It was neat to listen to what they already knew! As the week passed on, I thought and read about the events leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of our Savior. I was truly humbled and greatful for all that He has done for me personally. It was a good week.
Saturday was the annual Montpelier Egg Hunt. Alright, so spring here in the Bear Lake valley is always wet, muddy, slushy, chilly...just downright gross. This year we had the hunt at the fairgrounds, indoors. The little ones looked for eggs in pools filled with shredded paper. Brigg had a great time throwing the stuff around. This is where the dreaded bunny encounter occoured. There was the easter bunny at his disposal. He could hug him, give a hi-5, yank his tail, whatever he wanted to do.... I am sure you can all guess what happened--screaming and crying. Lots of crying. "I'm scared!!" I am the first to admit that a giant rabbit is a bit frightening!! So we moved on.

Molly and Spence had their egg hunt in one of the animal exhibition buildings (you know where they keep the sheep, cows, etc during fair time). I was wondering if it was sanitary--but tried to push it out of my head!! It was a great time and everyone came away with smiling faces!
Next we of course did a little egg dying. The kids had fun tie-dying and putting pearly paint on their eggs. There was relatively not a lot of mess this year. Way to go kids!

Saturday night when I was putting Brigg down to bed, we were talking about easter and the bunny. He said, "Mom, if you see that easter bunny, will you punch him out because he really scares me a little bit." It was so cute and I kept a straight face and told him I'd take care of it. Funny kid!!

Easter morning started with Brigg yelling at the top of his lungs, "COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!!!" I am being totally serious. The troops did an egg hunt, rummaged throught their easter baskets (I am nNEVER buying easter grass again) and eating candy at 8am. Gotta love it. We wrote their names on a special egg that we had them open up last. It was empty. We reminded them of the wonderful gift that Jesus gave us. The gift of an empty tomb. The gift of the Atonement. The gift of Repentance. The gift of eternal life with our families. So much to be greatful for.

Ramen

Alright! My kids love ramen noodles. I love that they are 4/$1. A couple days ago, I was making them for lunch. Molly leaned over the pot and took a big whiff of them and said,
"HELLOOOOOO GORGIOUS!"
It was hilarious. She sure does love her food! The girl would sit in her highchair when she was little for over an hour, just grazing and enjoying every bite of whatever she was eating. Boy, I love this girl!

The Derby!

This week we had our Pinewood Derby. Man, it is a big deal around here!! I look at it as some good bonding time for Spence and Bill. Bill looks at it like it's the devil. So much stress!! Anyway, they picked out a cool design and the work began. It ended up to be a pretty cool car!! It also proved to be just as fast as it was cool!! Spence and "The Bolt" took 2nd place!! It was a fun time! Bill was just glad to not come in last place like we did last year!
Great Job Spence!!

San Diego

Bill and I got to go on a trip to San Diego over Spring Break! It was heaven. The weather was beautiful, the palm trees were magestic, the water was soothing. We had a great time. Bill was in conference for a couple of days so I got to venture off by myself--i was pretty proud. I only got lost once (but that is another story). I went to the outdoor mall, Horton Plaza and the Gaslamp district downtown one day, and Seaport Villiage the next. When Bill was out of class we went to Old Town and had the most delicious mexican food EVER! We even got serendaded by a mariachee band. Sweet. The last day we went to SeaWorld and then headed over to Mission Beach. It was a jam-packed 4 days!! There was enough time to relax and read by the pool too. The WARM sun felt soooo good!! On departure day, our alarm didn't go off to wake us up and we got to the airport 45 min. before our flight left--there were lines out the door and we just knew we would miss our flight. We happen to be able to cut in line and get there in time. Bill was literally the last one to board. Way too much excitement for 6am!! It was so nice to see the kids and hear about all the fun stuff they did with grandma, grandpa and cousins! Here is a big shout out to them!! Thank you!!

Seaport Village and the Navy Pier
Balboa Park--we got to go see the musical "Working". It was great!
(Below) SeaWorld--we liked the flamingos!
Mission Beach--our last day was a little cloudy and windy, but we HAD to go to the beach!!
