Baby Jacob has Arrived!

Well, I am writing this on my original day i was scheduled to deliver our new little man...however, he is already 8 days old!! Yup, he was ready to come to our house a bit earlier than expected.

On December 8, Bill, me and the two boys drove to SLC and back to pick up our sweet new crib and dresser for Jacob's nursery. We ran into heavy snow and yuck and pretty much picked the worst day ever to make a "quick run" and back!! After unloading and setting up the dresser, getting some baby clothes out to wash the next day, I went to bed feeling excited about the new purchase and the thought of being all ready and organized before the big arrival. However, there were other plans in the works I guess!! At about 1:30 AM I started having some contractions. Then after tossing and turning in bed, my water broke and then the contractions started to be about 3 minutes apart....yeah, no turning back! We made it to the hospital (thank goodness it is only like 2 minutes away, and all the while I was thinking, "I am seriously having this baby!!" They got me my epidural--HALLELUJAH--and got me ready for surgery.

He was born Dec. 9th @ 4:22AM
Weight 7 pounds 9 ounces
Length 19 1/2 inches
He is such a sweet little guy. The kids love him and are always anxious to help with the holding!! We were so suprised he came early, but we wouldn't have had it any other way!!
Welcome to the world Jacob Howard Jensen! We love you!

Halloween 2009

Another fun Halloween! We got to attend Brigham's preschool program to start off our festivities. He was great at belting out all the songs and did some great dance moves as well. (He is super mario--he said to his teacher when he arrived that morning, "Just so ya know, the mustache isn't real." Thanks Brigg--I was wondering about your keen ability to grow facial hair at age 3!!The kids got tons of candy at the ward trunk-or-treat (a truly inspired activity--done with trick-or-treating in less than an hour, awesome. now if all other meetings would be that efficient!) Here are the little munchkins in their get-ups!

Aren't they crazy?? And to think this was BEFORE all the sugar intake! Hope your Halloween was great too!!

Family Pics 2009

So my amazing niece Heather Walker took our family pictures last month. She of course did a beautiful job. We are so pleased! If any of you reading this are in the Provo area, I'd be happy to give you her information to book a session with her!! Thanks again Heather!!

Long Time

I can't believe that it has been over a month since I posted. One word....SLACKER! Today is a bit overcast and rainy so I thought it was the perfect day to do some updates before some exciting days come upon us!

1. Molly lost her 1st and 2nd tooth on the same day. She went to the dentist for a teeth cleaning and he popped out the first one. Then while upstairs she did the 2nd one on her own!! I love her toothless smile. This just means she is growing up huh?

2. Double didgets. Yup, we officially have a 10-yr.old in the house. Spence had a great birthday Oct. 1. We had 4 of his buddies over for banana splits and a movie. Good fun!! We love Spence so much. He is a big help with the kids, so so smart at school and is constantly active with sports and piano. He's a great little guy!!!
3. Brigg being Brigg. I couldn't resist putting up a pic of him too. 4. Molly is in student council for her 1st grade class. One of the perks is getting to ride on the homecoming parade float for the elementry school. She had a great time! (She is in the light pink sweater)

5. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?? Spence started flag football this year and loves it! I'm suprised at how much this stuff is already ingrained in a boys head. He was pretty intense and played his heart out at every game!
Baby Update...So I'm getting increasingly large these days. We are getting so excited for our new little addition. I am not nearly as organized and prepared up to this point as I'd like to be, but that is okay. (Listen to how relaxed that sounds....) Brigg loves to kiss my belly on a daily basis. I am really cherishing our alone time together before baby comes. My favorite is after naps when we get to snuggle on the couch and read books together before the big kids get home. I really am finding joy in the little things lately and trying not to worry about things that don't really matter. It's been good for the ol' soul!

Till next post....and I promise it won't be another month and a half!

Brigham goes to Preschool

Brigg started preschool yesterday. He was super excited! He put his backpack on first thing (over his jammies) and picked out his show-n-tell (such a hard choice). His preschool class consists of 4 boys and 1 girl. My good friend Stacy has converted her basement into a preschool and it's so cute. He'll go 2 days a week, from 9-11:30. He came out smiling a huge smile--the first day was a success. He can't wait to go back for more!

Tag-A-Long Teddy

This is what happens when your brother and sister go to school all day long. You gotta improvise....

I was doing the dishes and looked out the window to find Brigham giving his teddy a ride. I am loving having one-on-one time with Brigg--he is such a sweet little guy. I would gladly ride on the back of his trike, but I don't think he would get very far!

School Days 2009

The Hallelujah chorus has sounded. School is once again in session. The nights are getting a little more crisp, new backpacks and school shoes have been purchased, sharpened school pencils and new notebooks and crayons are labled. I LOVE SCHOOL!
Here are the kids on the first day at AJ Winters Elementry

Spence-4th Grade with Mrs. George
Molly--1st grade with Mrs. Hunzeker

Molly in her class--she did so good and came home saying, "that was the best day EVER!" I was proud of her! I went to go take a picture of Spence in his classroom before school started and he just gave me the "mom, you are embarrassing me" look, so I decided to spare him. Am I already the embarrassing mom???? Kids grow up too fast!

August

I was really planning on posting more than once a month, but that is what it has turned into lately! I promise to be better (fingers crossed behind my back...) August was lovely. There is nothing like that last month of summer vacation! We tried to cram in as much fun as we possibly could!! I will break it into a few parts for posting purposes!

Part 1--The Jensen Reunion
It started with the first annual Jensen Family Reunion. Most of the family piled into these rafts and navigated their way down the Payette River. I would've LOVED to go, however, I'm great-with-child, can't swim, and a bit terrified of drowning in icy cold river water. I am hoping that someday I can relinquish my fear and join Bill in this sport that he loves! Did I mention icy cold river water???

The day ended with a yummy bbq at the park, lots of visiting and more eating....more holy sheet cake please!
Molly and Emi enjoying their dinner--
Brigg couldn't resist the water features and ended up getting soaked--shoes and all. He had to wear "girls clothes" the rest of the night. He survived!Sunday we witnessed 2 baby blessings--Mike and Jen's Laila and Kimi and Brandon's Lily. Such a sweet experience to witness the priesthood in action. We are blessed!
Here are all of the Jensen siblings--a mighty fine group!!

The whole family(minus a few missing members--we missed you missing members!!)

Part2--Time with Grandpa and Grandma

Me and the kids got to stay in Boise and visit while Bill went on a High Adventure Hike with the Young Men in our ward. We sure loved spending our days and nights with them!! We did lots of fun stuff while we were there.

The Zoo! The giraffes were our favorite!

Feeding Ducks and Geese
Merrill Park--keeping cool in the hot sun!
Mom and Dad, Nan and I

We also hit Downtown Boise to the Brickover Beanery, seriously the best food in this world. The kids loved their cheesy vegetable soup with a glop of homemade mashed potatoes in the center...mmmmm.

This is what Bill was doing in the meantime--hiking, hiking, and more hiking. They hiked up in the Sawtooths...beautiful ehe??

We sure missed him while we were in Boise--it was fun to hear all their adventures...what a great group!

Part 3-Bear Lake Classic Triathlon

Bill has really gotten big by the tri bug. I am super proud of him and love to go out and be a great athletic supporter!! My brother Ryan and his family came up and joined in the fun! Here are some pics of the day.Getting ready for the swim--he is the one with his hands up by his head.Bike TransitionComing in for a big finish. Spence joined him for the final stretch!Way to go!!

That was our August. Holy Cow this was a big post! Here is to a happy fall coming up!

July

We have had a great month with some fun summer trips! We got to go up to McCall to be with some of Bill's family over the 4th of July. It was so much fun to relax, eat yummy food and especially to be with family. Thank you Cathy for hosting (or hostessing). It is always such a ball at the cabin!!Spence manning the boat!
Me and Molly manning the dock
Brigg lovin the jet-ski with dad!

Yellowstone was another fun July happening. We loaded the kids up in the car on friday and headed out! We went through Jackson Hole and rode the tram up up up...it was a gorgious view fof the tetons from the top. We all loved those teton mountains--I told Bill, "I just can't stop looking at them!!" After Jackson, we drove up to grants village campground to our campsite. We were all a little hungry and ready to be settled for the night. They had encountered 8 bears since the beginning of the season in that campground, so we were all very vigilant about putting all our food in the car and keeping our site clean!! After roasting hot dogs and smores we tucked in for a bear-free night (thank goodness). We woke up for a full day of touring...old faithful and the grand canyon of the yellowstone. We had a blast and the kids loved it. We think we will make it a yearly tradition since it is so close to us!

Here we are getting ready to board the tram--yah, that baby goes all the way up!

It was a bit windy at the top!!Jiffy Pop! The Old Faithful Inn was amazing--we'd love to stay there someday! Artist Point at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone! Amazing!
